Promptfoo Acquired by OpenAI — Technology M&A

OpenAI has announced the acquisition of Promptfoo, a cybersecurity startup focused on helping teams safeguard and test complex AI systems. The deal is structured as an add-on acquisition, with Promptfoo’s team expected to join OpenAI and its technology planned for integration into OpenAI’s Frontier platform for AI agents. Deal value was not disclosed, though the transaction is reported in the range of roughly $60 million to $100 million.
