VodafoneZiggo stake Acquired by Liberty Global | Technology M&A Deal

Liberty Global has acquired the VodafoneZiggo stake, a telecom business in the Netherlands, for $1.0 billion in cash plus a 10% equity interest in a new Ziggo Group. The VodafoneZiggo joint venture operates Dutch telecommunications services, while Liberty Global also consolidates interests in Telenet in Belgium to build a Benelux telecom platform. Liberty Global acquisitions in technology M&A are focused on unlocking value from converged national FMC champions and supporting sustained free-cash-flow generation in Amsterdam and the wider Benelux region. The strategic acquisition is structured as a divestiture acquisition with Vodafone receiving $1.0 billion and long-term service agreements to maintain operational alignment, with plans to list Ziggo Group in 2027 and spin off 90% to Liberty Global shareholders subject to approval.
