Voltwise Power Closes $211M Acquisition Financing

Voltwise Power closed the syndication of £153.9 million (~$211 million) acquisition financing to support the purchase of a 460 MW diversified battery energy storage system (BESS) portfolio in the UK from Smart Metering Systems.

The portfolio includes seven operational BESS projects totaling 320 MW/350 MWh, four projects under construction totaling 140 MW/280 MWh, and additional development projects expanding Smart Metering Systems’ pipeline. The excerpt also notes Alight secured a £34 million (~$47 million) portfolio financing facility from SEB, but the Voltwise deal value is the £153.9 million acquisition financing.
