Skroutz Acquired by Blackstone | Technology M&A Deal

Blackstone has acquired Skroutz, a ecommerce business in Greece, for $1.3. Skroutz operates a vertically integrated online marketplace with more than 12 million products from roughly 9,000 merchants and about 2.5 million active users, supported by proprietary last-mile logistics and fulfillment. The platform also includes a licensed fintech offering and a growing retail media business, with expansion beyond Greece into Cyprus, Romania, and Bulgaria. Blackstone acquisitions are being executed through private equity acquisition for a majority stake, with founders selling part of their holdings while retaining influence and CEO George Chatzigeorgiou staying in role. The Skroutz acquisition is structured as a platform acquisition, with the definitive agreement announced and investment intended to support continued growth and European expansion.
