Reltio Acquired by SAP — Technology M&A

SAP has announced an agreement to acquire Reltio, a cloud-native master data management (MDM) software provider, in a deal structure described as an acquisition. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is positioned as a strategic step to expand SAP’s Business Data Cloud (BDC) into a broader enterprise data platform intended to support AI use cases across SAP’s customer base.

Reltio’s technology focuses on harmonizing, cleansing, and governing master data across both SAP and non-SAP environments, aligning with SAP’s stated objective to make enterprise data “AI-ready.” SAP’s Business Data Cloud is designed to improve data quality and consistency so that AI applications, including SAP’s Joule assistant and related agent capabilities, can rely on trusted information. The move also reflects ongoing demand in enterprise software for integrated data management that spans multiple systems and supports semantic understanding beyond SAP-only data.

SAP said the acquisition will accelerate the development of its enterprise data platform roadmap, extending MDM capabilities to additional SAP business applications. The company did not provide a disclosed close date or specific advisor information in the available announcement.
