Los Angeles County will provide roughly $2.6 million through the Commercial Acquisition Fund to help small businesses, nonprofits, and certain developers execute commercial property acquisitions across the county. The program is run by the Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity in partnership with Genesis L.A. Economic Growth Corporation.
The funding includes $1 million in discretionary support for projects in the county’s 2nd District, spanning areas from Hancock Park to South Bay cities including Redondo Beach and Carson. The fund offers forgivable loans intended to reduce displacement and promote long-term economic growth by advancing community ownership and revitalizing commercial corridors.
The county previously distributed $10 million from American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funds during the first cycle, supporting seven property acquisitions that created space for 39 small businesses, three nonprofits, and more than 125 creative workspaces. Applications for the latest round open May 5.
