Propell Energy Technology Acquired by Blackstone | Energy M&A Deal

Blackstone has agreed to acquire Propell Energy Technology, a energy services other business in Texas, for $1.0 billion. Propell Energy Technology supplies equipment and technology for behind-the-meter power generation, supporting AI data centers and microgrids. VoltaGrid’s platform acquisition plan centers on integrating Propell’s high-inertia QPac system to serve demanding power loads in Texas. The $775 million primary capital raise and $225 million secondary purchase are backed by Blackstone and Halliburton, with VoltaGrid using proceeds to accelerate deployment and pursue energy M&A. The private equity acquisition is structured as a platform acquisition and is expected to close in mid-2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
