Napa Transportation, Inc., a strategic logistics and trucking operator based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, acquired certain assets of Payne Trucking, Inc.’s dry van division and brokerage division from Payne Trucking in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The transaction is structured as an add-on acquisition and is now closed. While the deal value was not disclosed, Payne Trucking’s dry van truckload operations at the time included roughly 80 tractors and about 176 trailers, serving medium-length haul routes primarily across the eastern United States. Payne’s owner, Danny Payne, continued operating a separate bulk commodities semi-trailer dump truck business under the Payne Trucking name.

The acquisition supports Napa Transportation’s network strategy in the Middle Atlantic and Northeast corridors, including terminal coverage aligned with major highway routes in Virginia. Napa, which operates a fleet serving food and consumer goods distribution, said the added Virginia presence is intended to improve efficiency, broaden its customer base, and expand service offerings. For Payne, the deal effectively separates its dry van and brokerage activities from its remaining bulk commodities operations.
