LS Power Portfolio Acquired by NRG Energy | Energy M&A Deal

NRG Energy has completed the acquisition of the LS Power Portfolio, a renewable energy business in Texas, for $560 million. NRG Energy acquisitions add natural gas generation capacity and a commercial and industrial virtual power plant, expanding dispatchable resources and demand response capabilities across Texas and multiple states. The LS Power Portfolio includes 18 natural gas-fired facilities totaling about 13 GW and CPower with roughly 6 GW of capacity and 2,000+ commercial and industrial customers, supporting NRG’s integrated supply strategy. This energy M&A add-on acquisition is a strategic acquisition by NRG Energy and follows an earlier Texas Generation Portfolio purchase, with the LS Power Portfolio closing on January 30, 2026 under a purchase and sale agreement.
