USA Truck Going Private as UTAC Buys Company

Former USA Truck executives have acquired the trucking and logistics company in a going-private transaction, with the new owners planning to keep the headquarters in Van Buren. USA Truck said the buyer is UTAC, LLC, owned by three principals with deep institutional knowledge of USA Truck and the transportation industry.

The company’s CEO George Henry will remain top executive, while Zachary King, a former CFO, will act as CFO during the transition. James Reed, a former USA Truck CEO and operating partner with Banner Capital, will advise. The company said it is financially strong and expects to reinforce its identity as a U.S.-based carrier with regional roots.
