USA Truck Acquired by Executives — Logistics M&A

Former USA Truck executives have acquired the trucking and logistics company in a going-private transaction, with the business set to remain headquartered in Van Buren, Arkansas. The buyer, UTAC, LLC, is backed by three principals with prior leadership experience at USA Truck, including CEO George Henry, who will continue as the company’s top executive, and former CFO Zachary King, who will serve as acting CFO during the transition. James Reed, a former USA Truck CEO and an operating partner with Banner Capital, will provide advisory support. The deal is described as valued at more than $100 million, though the acquisition price was not disclosed in the announcement.

USA Truck operates in long-haul trucking and supply chain services, with a terminal network across the eastern United States and relationships with a large base of contract carriers. The move follows DSV’s decision to divest USA Truck as part of its integration of DB Schenker, after Schenker acquired USA Truck in 2022. Returning the carrier to private ownership is positioned as a way to reinforce USA Truck’s U.S. operating identity and regional roots, while maintaining continuity for customers, employees and carrier partners.

No closing date or detailed financial terms were provided, and there was no immediate public filing from DSV related to the transaction. The company said it is financially strong and expects the transition to support long-term operational and customer-focused growth.
