Lightrock Energy Acquisition | M&A Deal

Lightrock has completed the acquisition of a renewable energy platform business in sub-Saharan Africa, for $500m. Lightrock acquisitions focus on expanding electricity access through growth-stage investments in off-grid and grid-connected power solutions across African markets. The renewable energy acquisition strategy targets businesses enabling cleaner generation and distribution to underserved communities, supporting energy access and reliability. As a private equity acquisition and platform acquisition, the energy M&A initiative is structured as a closed fund with a $500m target size, aiming to deploy capital across the region for platform acquisition opportunities.
