Shepherd Insurance has acquired Capitol Insurance Group, a insurance brokerage business in Indiana, for $2M. Shepherd Insurance acquisitions expand its independent insurance agency footprint in Indianapolis by adding Capitol Insurance Group, a family-owned agency founded in 1981 that provides customized insurance and risk management for businesses, churches, nonprofits, and individuals. Shepherd Insurance also completed a Cox & Kimball Insurance acquisition, bringing a Bedford-based agency with decades of service-first experience into its insurance brokerage platform. The strategic acquisition is structured as an add-on acquisition within financial services M&A, with the Cox & Kimball team joining Shepherd’s Bedford location and expected to close following the announced terms.
